We recognize that, in most business litigation matters, the litigation process is both costly and a distraction to the goal of maximizing profit. As such, we are careful to keep our business litigation clients apprised of all developments, as well as to counsel them as to alternatives to avoiding or settling litigation where appropriate. Sometimes, however settlement is not desired or advantageous, and in those instances, when so directed by the client, our litigators are aggressive in seeking a favorable result from a judge or jury.
Collections
Our attorneys have years of experience assisting our business clients in collecting delinquent accounts receivable. Where accounts to be collected are “consumer accounts” (thus bringing into plan the complex rules and restrictions of the Illinois Collection Agency Act, the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Practices Act, we are conversant with the requirements of those acts and make sure that our clients’ collection activities do not run afoul of them.
