The firm understands that its success depends on the establishment of lasting quality relationships with its clients built on trust, mutual respect and measurable results. We define success as achieving for each client the intended legal result in the most timely and cost-effective manner possible, while at the same time limiting the scope of our services (and the resulting legal fees) to no more than what is reasonably required to achieve that result. For most business and transactional work, fees are based upon the time required to complete the assignment. (There are, however, instances where a pre-negotiated "flat fee" can be arranged.) On a monthly basis, each client receives a computer-generated statement itemizing, in detail, the legal services rendered for the client and the amount charged for those services. With such regular, detailed billing the firm has found that its clients are kept fully apprised of the status of their accounts, thereby eliminating the "surprise" factor which can otherwise lead to billing disputes. With its offices situated in Chicago's northwest suburbs (where overhead is lower than in major metropolitan centers), Schnell, Bazos, Freeman, Kramer, Schuster & Vanek is able to provide its clients with high-quality business and transactional legal services at prices which are significantly (and often dramatically) lower than the fees normally charged by "downtown" law firms. Clients also benefit from easy access to the firm and its attorneys and can thereby avoid the inefficiencies and inconveniences involved with a commute to Chicago.
